Paula A. Hamer

Paula A. Hamer is a Partner at the Herrling Clark Law Firm, Ltd. Paula’s practice is entirely devoted to family law issues and related litigation. For the past decade, Paula has served clients in the areas of divorce, paternity actions, custody and physical placement disputes, adoptions, and claims to terminate parental rights. Prior to dedicating her entire practice to the representation of clients involved in family law cases, Paula served as a town, city, and village attorney for various local municipalities.

Paula is an active member of the Outagamie County Bar Association, the Winnebago County Bar Association, and the Waupaca County Bar Association. Paula’s committed presence within these various local bar associations has helped her to establish a strong and effective working relationship with our local judges, appointed guardian ad litems, and other attorneys. These relationships, coupled with Paula’s confidence and track record in the courtroom, position her as a force during complex negotiations. Paula is an aggressive advocate for her clients’ rights and maintains a working knowledge of the law and proposed legislative changes that affect her clients’ bargaining positions.

In 2014, Paula was named a “Top 10 Under 40 Attorney” by the National Academy of Family Attorneys (NAFLA). This elite honor is bestowed on less than 1% of the attorneys licensed throughout the State of Wisconsin. Paula has also been recognized on numerous occasions as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer.

Paula joined Herrling Clark Law Firm, Ltd. in 2004 after earning her juris doctorate from Marquette University Law School with honors. Having grown up in the Oshkosh area, Paula was excited to return to the Fox Valley area to begin her legal career and has genuinely enjoyed practicing in this community ever since. Paula’s commitment to civic involvement stems in part from watching her father build and maintain a family-owned business in Oshkosh and also from her husband’s service to the Oshkosh community as a firefighter.
