Appleton Attorney to Serve Outagamie County Truancy Court

Herrling Clark Law Firm, Ltd. of northeast Wisconsin is pleased to announce that John D. Claypool has accepted an appointment to serve the Outagamie County Truancy Court. Claypool is a partner at Herrling Clark and he concentrates his practice in the area of personal injury litigation.

The Truancy Court was created in 2008-09 in an effort to reduce truancy among students attending the four high schools in Appleton. Eventually the program was expanded to include the middle schools as well. The court partners with the Appleton School District, the Board of Education, the City of Appleton, the Appleton Police Department, and the Outagamie County Clerk of Courts and Sheriff’s Departments to identify cases of excessive truancy, provide pre-emptive programming for the habitually truant, and provide guidance for at-risk students.

APPLETON, Wisconsin - It was announced recently that attorney Kevin Lonergan, President of Herrling Clark Law Firm, Ltd., was named Chairman of the State Bar Public Education Committee for a 5th consecutive year, and he was also announced as the First Vice-President of the Wisconsin Law Foundation’s Board of Directors.

The Wisconsin Law Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports creative and innovative programs designed to enhance the vision of the American Justice System. Following his term as First Vice-President, Mr. Lonergan will assume the Presidency in 2018 for a two-year term.

Appleton Attorney Elected to Leadership Post in Litigation Section of Wisconsin State Bar

Herrling Clark Partner Kristen Scheuerman named Treasurer of Litigation Section Board of Governors.

It was announced recently that attorney Kristen S. Scheuerman, a partner at Herrling Clark Law Firm, Ltd., was elected to a one-year term as Treasurer of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. She will serve the post during the 2017-18 term.

The Litigation Section brings together members who have an interest in civil litigation, insurance law, and tort law. The section publishes a newsletter to keep members abreast of developments affecting litigation, monitors and proposes legislation, and sponsors CLE programs. The Litigation Section maintains an Email list, and assists with the editing and publishing of materials benefiting litigators in Wisconsin. It also supports the training of law students in trial advocacy and the continuation of the adversarial and jury systems.
